The “Industrial Ecology” Department was founded in 2012. The department is a part of the Chemical Technology and Ecology Faculty and is one of the important structural departments of the university.

   The main task of the department is the organization and establishment of educational, scientific-research and design work in accordance with modern requirements.

    At the “Industrial Ecology” Department of the Chemical Technology and Ecology Faculty of Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, highly qualified specialists are being trained in the specialties of "Protection of the environment and sustainable development of natural resources" and “Metrology, standardization and certification”, as well as bachelors in the specialty of "Standardization and metrology" for the "Turkmengaz" State Concern, the "Turkmennebit" State Concern, the "Turkmengeologiya" State Corporation, the "Turkmenhimiva" State Concern and administrative departments and enterprises of Oil and Gas complex of Turkmenistan, for the institutions of the Agriculture and Environmental protection Ministry, as the “Turkmenstandartlary” Main State Service and for the designing and national research institutes of our country.

     The department graduates engineers-ecologists-technologists with higher education in the specialty of “Protection of the environment and sustainable development of natural resources”, engineers-technologists with higher education in the specialty of “Metrology, standardization and certification” and bachelors in the “Standardization and metrology” specialty.

    The department includes:

    -         “Industrial ecology” laboratory;

    -         “Waste water treatment” laboratory;

    -         “Environmental monitoring” laboratory;

    -         “Microbiology and biotechnology” laboratory;

    -         “Inspection, control and testing methods” laboratory;

    -         “Metrology” specialty laboratory.
