The Industrial ecology department was founded in 2012. The department is a part of the Chemical technology and ecology faculty and is one of the structural departments of the university.
The main task of the department is the organization and establishment of educational, scientific -research and design work in accordance with the requirements of the time.
At the Industrial ecology department of the Chemical technology and ecology faculty of Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university, highly qualified specialists are being trained in the specialties of "Environmental protection and rational use of natural resources" and “Standardization and certification”, as well as bachelors in the direction of "Standardization and metrology" for the Türkmengaz State Concern, the Türkmennebit State Concern, the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation of Oil and Gas complex of Turkmenistan, for the Türkmenhimiýa State Concern and other administrative departments, for the enterprises of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, for the Türkmenstandartlary Main State Service and for the designing and research institutes of our country.
The department graduates engineers-ecologists technologists with higher education in the specialty of “Environmental protection and rational use of natural resources”, engineers-technologists with higher education in the specialty of “Standardization and certification” and bachelors in the direction of “Standardization and metrology”.
The department includes:
- Industrial ecology laboratory;
- Waste water treatment laboratory;
- Environmental monitoring laboratory;
- Microbiology and biotechnology laboratory;
- Methods of testing, verification and control laboratory;
- Metrology laboratory;
- The Industrial ecology basic department at the Technological Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
