The  department  of  Informatics   and  information  technologies  was founded    in  2012. The  department isa   part  of  Digital technologies  and  cybersecurity  faculty and  is  one of  the  structural  departments  of  the university.

      The  main task of the  department  is  the  organization and  establishment of  educational, scientific-research  and  design work  in  accordance   with   the  requirements  of  the   time.

         At    the  Informatics   and   information  technologies   department  of  the  Digital   technologies  and  cybersecurity  faculty of  Yagshygeldi  Kakayev  International oil  and   gas  university,  highly   qualified   specialists  are  being   trained  in   the   specialty   of “Information   technology   software” as  well as  bachelors  in  the  direction  of “Software  engineering”  and  “Computer  systems software”  for  establishments  of  Oil  and   gas  complex  of  Turkmenistan,  other   ministries   and   sectoral  administrative departments.

        The department graduates software engineers in the specialty of “Information technology software” and   bachelors  in  the directionof “Software  engineering”  and “Computer  systems  software”, capable  of   developing   and  using   software   for  any  field   of computer   technology,  information, communication   and  digital  technologies.
