The  department  of  Compressors  and  refrigeration  units  was   founded  in   2012. The   department  is  a  part  of  the  Energy and structure  engineering  faculty  and  is  one  of  the  structural   departments  of  the  university.

       The  main  task  of  the  department  is  the  organization   and  establishment  of  educational,  scientific-research  and  design work inaccordance  with  the  requirements  of  the  time.

        At the Compressors and refrigeration units department of the Energy and structure engineering faculty of Yagshygeldi  Kakayev International oil  and  gas university, highly qualified specialists are being trained in the specialty of “Refrigeration,   compressor  machines  and  installations”, “Gas turbine plants and gas compressor stations” forthe Türkmengaz State Concern, the Türkmennebit State Concern, the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation and other administrative departments and  enterprises of Oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan.

        The  students from   Afghanistan  study  in  the  specialty  of  “Gas  turbine  plants  and  gas  compressor  stations”, too. 

        The  department   graduates  engineers-mechanics  with  higher  education  in the  specialty  of   “Refrigeration,    compressor machines  and  installations”  and  “Gas  turbine  plants  and  gas  compressor  stations”.

       The department includes:

    -  Refrigeration,  compressor  and  pumping  equipment  laboratory;

    -  Automation  and  operation  of   refrigeration  equipment   laboratory;

   -  Heat  engineering  and  non-traditional  energysources  laboratory;

   -  Heat  and  gas  supplyand  ventilation  laboratory.
