In the year of “Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar”, in order to implement the tasks in accordance with the “Roadmap for the development of international cooperation in the field of hydrogen energy of Turkmenistan for 2022-2023” approved by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan dated January 28, 2022 No. 2581 with the support of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of education of Turkmenistan, an international scientific and practical online conference was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university on the topic “Technical opportunities for obtaining hydrogen energy from natural gas” on February 24, 2023.

   Representatives of international organizations, technical universities of foreign countries, ministries and administrative departments of Turkmenistan, as well as well-known scientists, university rectors, professors, students, and more than 100 scientists and specialists of scientific and educational systems from 25 countries of the world attended the scientific and practical conference. Among them are the representatives from Great Britain, Japan, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the People's Republic of China, India, the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria, Romania, Belgium, Italy, the Republic of Turkey, Korea, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and other countries are. Issues such as cooperation in priority areas of scientific research, production and development of hydrogen energy were discussed at the international scientific and practical conference.

    Within the framework of the international scientific and practical conference, an exhibition dedicated to the latest projects and modern innovative technologies, the oil and gas industry as the main branch of the economy of our country was organized at the university, moreover exhibits of the National museum of Turkmenistan were performed, too. The participants of the conference got acquainted with the results of scientific and design work carried out in the research and production centers of the university.

    The research works on the production of artificial marble from local raw materials are conducted at the university. Several samples of artificial marble, differing in composition, size and color, were designed and subjected to appropriate tests in the laboratories of the university. The participants of the conference were greatly impressed by the samples of artificial marble and model of the gas chemical complex for the production of Methyl diethanolamine and the exhibition of research works on the future prospects of the fuel and energy industry of Turkmenistan.

   At the general meeting, in accordance with the agenda of the international scientific and practical conference, the rector of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, the rector of the Tashkent State technical university named after Islam Karimov and others discussed large-scale reforms aimed at the development of various areas of the scientific and educational system and their introduction into production, as well as information on the ongoing scientific-research and design work on hydrogen energy. It was also noted that the integration of different levels of education, science and production covers all countries of the world, including Turkmenistan. The last forum is a vivid example of this and it shows that the training of highly qualified specialists is not only the work of a higher educational institution, but also the result of close contact of the entire educational system with the industry. Thus, the scientific and practical conference “Scientific and technical opportunities for obtaining hydrogen energy from natural gas” brought together students, representatives of business and the oil and gas industry and became a favorable platform for mutually beneficial cooperation and exchange of scientific ideas and experience.

    The work of the forum consisted of two parts: in the first part, the director of the Hydrogen Energy Research Center of the China National oil and gas Corporation, the General director of the hydrogen gas department of the Japanese “Iwatani Corporation” company, the project manager for the production of gasoline from natural gas of the “Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.”, professors of the Chinese petroleum university, the professors of Hebei vocational technical university and Xi'an petroleum university, the professor of the Technological university "PETRONAS" Malaysia made the main reports online and aroused great interest among the participants of the conference. Specialists of the Natural Gas Research Institute of “Turkmengas” concern, the branch of the Japanese corporation ITOCHU in Turkmenistan, the branch of the Chinese National oil and gas corporation “International Ltd.” in Turkmenistan, the Italian “Eni Turkmenistan Limited” company made their speeches at the conference.

   In the second part of the forum, there were online presentations by a professor of Imperial College London, a specialist of the Austrian company LARKALIS UMWELTTECHNIK GMBH, an expert of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a specialist of the “Dragon Oil” company, United Arab Emirates, professor of the Kazan National research technical university, the Russian Federation, specialist of the BRICS Youth energy agency. The director and head of the Department of the Technological Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, rectors of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan, director of the Natural gas research institute of the State concern “Turkmengas”, director of the Hydrogen energy center of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university also presented their scientific reports at the conference.

    The organizers of the international scientific and practical conference hope that it will be an important step in the implementation of the creation of a promising hydrogen energy industry.

    The creation and development of the hydrogen energy industry, in turn, will increase the energy security of the country and accelerate the transition to a “green” economy. It is believed that the development of the hydrogen energy industry will have a positive impact on the environment and will lead to the creation of additional jobs.

    The participants of the international scientific and practical conference summed up its results and made the following decisions:

1. It should be noted the importance of organizing an international scientific and practical conference and its timely holding, as well as the organization of its work at a high level;

2. To continue cooperation on the creation and development of hydrogen energy, paying special attention to the development of environmentally friendly, economically and technologically advantageous solutions;

3. To continue the joint work of representatives of higher educational institutions of different countries, foreign companies and international organizations to study the future of hydrogen energy and technology development;

4. To attract more students and young teachers of universities of our country and foreign countries to the work of the international scientific and practical conference in the future.
