Bilateral cooperation in science and education

    During the period of Revival of a new era of a powerful state under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan successfully implements a foreign policy strategy based on the principles of neutrality, peace, good neighborliness and effective international cooperation.

    The friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates have been continuously developing over the years based on mutual understanding and trust. Currently, international cooperation is carried out on a bilateral basis, as well as within the framework of the UN and other major international organizations. The fuel and energy sector is one of the main areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.

    Based on the Agreements signed at the state level, an official meeting was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan Ahmed Al Hay Al Hameli to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation in science and education. At the meeting, the rector of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University spoke that under the leadership of our Esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar, great efforts are being made to improve the system of science and education in accordance with the requirements of the time, to introduce the younger generation to the latest achievements in the field of education, to prepare highly qualified specialists focused on innovative technologies, the rector also emphasized the successful development of Turkmen-Arab relations based on the “Open Door” policy. In his speech, he spoke about the faculties, departments and specialty directions of the university, about the research activities carried out at the university, about cooperation in the field of science and education with specialized universities of foreign countries, as well as about cooperation with the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and the Malaysia Technological University of “Petronas” company.

    It was noted that in recent years, effective cooperation in the fields of science, education and the oil and gas industry has been established on the basis of a contract concluded between the oil and gas company “Dragon Oil” of the United Arab Emirates and the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University. It was discussed at the meeting that the university has developed scientifically reasoned innovative technologies for renewable energy sources and plans to introduce them into production jointly with the oil and gas company “Dragon Oil” of the United Arab Emirates.

    Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan Ahmed Al Hay Al Hameli expressed his gratitude for the organized meeting, highly appreciated the university's activities in international cooperation and expressed support for the further development of cooperation. He also provided information about well-known oil and gas companies of the United Arab Emirates, specialized universities, in particular Khalifa University, which trains specialists for the country's oil and gas industry, and stated his readiness to provide support in establishing cooperation with these companies and universities in the field of science and education.

    Interstate relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates, based on the principles of openness, mutual respect and understanding, are long-term and multifaceted, and mutual cooperation between the countries is constantly developing, strengthening and enriched with new meaning for the benefit of the fraternal peoples.

    The meeting participants thanked the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero Arkadag and the Esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their great efforts to develop cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates and wished them sound health, long life and prosperity.
