Informationabout the library of the university

    The  library of  the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University was founded in 2012.  Currently, the library fund of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University consists of 113,942 copies of books.  The library fund contains  27,643 copies  of  booksin Russian, 2,807 copies  of  books in other  foreign languages, as well  as 83,492 copies of books in Turkmen.

    The library  fund consists of scientific and technical publications, educational books, fiction, political and socialpublications, as well as newspapers and magazines.The library fund is regularly replenishedwith political, fiction and educational literature received from the “Bilim”center of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

    Thelibrary has all the necessary conditions for reading books for students.

    Since  2012, the library has had an electronic library, which in turn is served by 96computers connected to the electronic network. Currently, the electronic library consists of 6,752 electronic booksavailable to readers, of which 3,009 books are in Turkmen, 3,743 in Russian andother foreign languages.

The  main  activities  of  the  library:

·       to  promote  quality  education  and  the  development  of  scientific  and  innovative  works  by  creating  a  library  fund  in  accordance   with professional   directions, educational   programs  and   information   needs  of   the  university;

·       expanding  the  range  of  information and  bibliographic  services  provided  to  readers  by  large  and  specialized  libraries;

·       popularization  of  information  and  bibliographic  knowledge  among  students;

·       selection, collection  and  systematization  of  the  library  fund;

·       quick  access  to  information  and  funds  for  the  main  groups  of  readers;

·       creation  of  effective  information  retrieval  capabilities  in  printed  and  electronic  forms  of  publications;

·       maintaining  interaction  with  faculties, departments  and  research  centers  of  the  university  in  order to  provide  information  about  services, library fund, as  well  as  educational,  innovative  and  scientific  activities;

·       ensuring the safety of the library funds;

·      informing  about  the  services  offered  by  the  library.
