1st International Open Internet Olympiad in Informatics among students of higher educational institutions
In accordance with the "Concept of developing the digital education system in Turkmenistan" approved by the President of Turkmenistan and the Plan for its implementation, in order to fulfill the tasks set by the Esteemed President to identify scientific, educated, broad-minded, talented youth in the year of Happy youth with Arkadag Serdar, on April 19, 2023, the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University held the 1st International Open Internet Olympiad in Informatics with the participation of students from higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and foreign countries.
The 1st International Open Internet Olympiad in Informatics, held among students of higher educational institutions, shows that the digital education system is being implemented consistently in Turkmenistan and our young people are confident in using innovative technologies.
Generally, 181 students from 23 higher educational institutions of our country actively participated in the International Olympiad through the digital network.
Totally, 270 students from foreign countries, such as the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Korea, Romania, Malaysia, the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Republic of Tajikistan participated in the online Olympiad.
The opening ceremony of the Olympiad was held at the information technology center of the university, and the Vice Rector of the university made a speech and congratulated the students-participants of the 1st Open Internet Olympiad in Informatics and wished them great success. Professors and students of our country, as well as students from foreign higher educational institutions and their supervisors attended the opening ceremony through the digital network.
The students of China (Beijing) University of Petroleum, Gomel State University named after Francis Skorina of the Republic of Belarus, Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, the Institute of National Security of Turkmenistan, the Almetyev State Oil Institute of the Russian Federation, the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan distinguished themselves and won prizes in the Olympiad.
More than 450 students from 54 higher educational institutions from 18 countries actively participated in the Olympiad. The national software specially developed by the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University helped to determine the individual and team winners of the Olympiad on the base of total number of collected points. The individual and team winners were awarded with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree diplomas by the Rector of the university.
