From October 1-3, 2024, the International Exhibition “Water, Energy, Technology and Environment” (WETEX 2024) is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Two teachers and two students of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University were sent to participate in it from September 30 to October 4, 2024.

    On June 7, 2022, the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, the “Türkmennebit” State Concern and the “Dragon Oil (Turkmenistan) Ltd” Company signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of science and education.

    Due to the agreement, the university's teachers and students developed a scientifically based innovative wind energy technology to create renewable energy sources and prepared its model. The developed innovative wind energy technology is planned to be introduced into production on the coast of the Caspian Sea jointly with the company “Dragon Oil (Turkmenistan) Ltd”.

    About 2600 companies from 62 countries of the world are taking part in the international exhibition WETEX 2024. The exhibition presents exhibits of solar, wind and hydrogen energy, innovative technologies implemented in the oil and gas industry, new technologies for water treatment and purification, as well as exhibits of innovative solutions that ensure sustainable development related to ecology.

    At the international exhibition “Water, Energy, Technology and Environment” (WETEX 2024), teachers and students of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, demonstrate a model of an innovative technology that converts wind energy into electricity. A video about the wind energy technology developed by the teachers and students of the university is continuously demonstrated in the pavilion of the oil and gas company “Dragon Oil” at the WETEX 2024 exhibition.

    The university teachers and students, participating in the international exhibition, are studying innovative technologies related to renewable energy sources and green energy.

    On October 1, 2024, representatives of our university took part in a seminar on the future of energy, implementation of new technologies in the oil and gas industry, reduction of methane emissions into the atmosphere, and environmental problems of oil waste, organized by the oil and gas company “Dragon Oil” within the framework of the exhibition. The heads of Dragon Oil and Enoc, as well as professors from University of Sharjah, spoke at the seminar.
